Lutheran women, coast to coast…In the Lord a mighty host…
Let us all united be in the Holy Trinity…One in faith, in hope, and love…Working for the Lord above…Till our earthly labors done…
We in heaven shall all be one.
ZONE and NON-ZONE NEWS & VIEWS
Given the nongeographic nature of our district, the purpose of this page is to provide a way for us as sisters in Christ to stay in touch. It is meant to offer a vehicle by which we can encourage one another and share ideas. A space has been reserved for your zone to summarize events such as Rallies, Workshops, Retreats, Prayer Services, Joy Days, LWML Sunday, Mission Sundays, etc. Photos may be submitted. Individual societies may also contribute by sharing Bible Study resources, member development and fund-raising ideas, mite initiatives, craft projects, recipes for large gatherings, etc ….
ALL PRAISE AND GLORY TO GOD FOR OUR LWML ENGLISH DISTRICT 35TH BIENNIAL CONVENTION
The Spring Rally was held on March 24, 2012. It was hosted by Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL.
A SWEET AND AMAZ-Z-ZING MISSION
Have you heard the BUZZ? BEE-decked in their BEE-nies, LWML members of Concordia Lutheran Church, Berwyn, IL sponsored their annual Honey Sunday to benefit Dakota Boys & Girls Ranch (DBGR). BEE-lievers made a BEE-line to participate between services. Groups sponsoring a Honey Sunday simply fill out an address label per bottle ordered. They can sell the honey for $5 to $7 a bottle and retain 30% of the total funds received. Upon receiving the returned labels, the Ranch mails the 11oz squeeze bottles of honey which is processed on the Ranch.Knowing of the extensive flood damage the Ranch sustained earlier in the year, Concordia’s Lutheran Women in Mission sent 100% of the proceeds back to the Ranch. They also gave individuals the opportunity to give a DBGR Flood Relief free will offering. Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch exists to help at-risk children and their families succeed in the name of Christ. Children who experience emotional, behavioral and/or learning challenges are cared for in residential facilities across the state of North Dakota. DBGR is a social ministry organization granted Recognized Service Organization status by the Board of LCMS World Relief & Human Care.
